I am an educator and illustrator from Atlanta, Georgia. For the past six years, I have lived in Birmingham, Alabama. I earned a BFA at Georgia State University with a concentration in drawing, painting, and printmaking. I also received a master's degree in visual arts education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

 

In addition to working as an elementary art teacher, I have worked as a freelance artist and illustrator. In 2012, I painted 365 portraits in a year. Then I painted 100 more in 2013. I still make art every day! Now I make art for children's books, toys, games, home decor, and greeting cards.

When I am not making art, I am usually chasing my five-year-old son around along with my husband and our two pups, Artie and Annie. I love to travel and explore new places. When I am home, I can usually be found curled up on the couch with my iPad and Apple pencil, drawing and watching reality television.
